Guiding Minds Montessori is new to Headingley, Manitoba — but the experience, dedication, and passion behind it spans nearly three decades of authentic Montessori education.
NEARLY THREE DECADES IN THE MONTESSORI CLASSROOM
Founder and Director Angie Izzard did not stumble into early childhood education. She chose it. And then she dedicated 27 years of her professional life to mastering it.
Across nearly three decades working in Montessori schools throughout Manitoba, Angie guided hundreds of children through their most formative early years. She watched toddlers find their footing. She watched primary children discover the joy of mathematics, language, and cultural studies through hands-on Montessori materials.
She watched families exhale with relief knowing their child was truly seen, supported, and inspired every single day.
She did not just teach Montessori. She lived it.
WHY ANGIE FOUNDED GUIDING MINDS MONTESSORI
After nearly three decades in the Montessori classroom, Angie knew it was time to build something of her own.
Not because she was done learning. But because she was ready to lead.
She envisioned a Headingley Montessori school where authentic principles were not just followed on paper but embedded in every corner of every classroom. A prepared environment where children aged 18 months to 6 years could develop independence, concentration, and a genuine love of learning. A community where Manitoba families felt like partners, not just parents dropping off their children.
A place where every child was truly seen.
Guiding Minds Montessori was that vision made real.
GUIDING MINDS MONTESSORI OPENS IN HEADINGLEY
Guiding Minds Montessori opened its doors at 4945 Portage Avenue in Headingley, Manitoba in [opening date]. From day one, families responded. Because 27 years of Montessori expertise, genuine care, and deep community roots are impossible to miss.
Today Guiding Minds Montessori serves children aged 18 months to 6 years through our Toddler Program and Primary Program, staffed by AMI/AMS certified Montessori guides who are members of the Manitoba Child Care Association and certified Early Childhood Educators.
We are provincially licensed, authentically Montessori, and deeply committed to the Headingley families who trust us with their children every single day.
JUST GETTING STARTED
Guiding Minds Montessori is new. But our roots run deep. And we are just getting started.
Every child who walks through our doors in Headingley carries with them the benefit of 27 years of Montessori experience, a carefully prepared learning environment, and a team of certified guides who genuinely love what they do.
That is not something that happens overnight. That is something that is built, year after year, child after child, family after family.
We are proud to bring that to Headingley. And we could not be more excited about what comes next.

I first met Angie in 2017. My daughter was attending a Montessori school and she was lucky enough to have Ms. Angie as her teacher.
