Our Montessori programs in Headingley are designed to meet children where they are — from their first gentle steps away from home at 18 months through to Kindergarten readiness for Grade 1 and beyond.
Every program is built on authentic Montessori principles, delivered by AMI/AMS certified guides, and supported by a warm Manitoba community that treats your family like our own.
INFANT PROGRAM
(AGES 18 MONTHS TO UNDER 2 YEARS)
A gentle first step away from home. Our Infant Program offers a gradual phase-in process and a warm, nurturing Montessori environment for our youngest learners in Headingley.
Space is intentionally limited to up to 4 infants, ensuring every child receives the individual attention and care they need in a small, calm setting alongside toddlers.
TODDLER PROGRAM
(AGES 2 TO UNDER 3 YEARS)
Hands-on Montessori learning that builds confidence, independence, and joy in discovery. Our Toddler Program welcomes up to 10 toddlers in a warm, welcoming environment where children explore freely and safely.
Families moving up from our Infant Program are guaranteed a spot, making the transition smooth and familiar for both child and parent.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
(AGES 3 TO 5 YEARS)
Developing academic foundations and essential life skills in a vibrant mixed-age Montessori classroom. Our Preschool Program serves up to 24 children in a purposeful, child-led environment where curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning are nurtured every single day. Practical life, sensorial exploration, language, mathematics, and cultural studies all come to life through authentic Montessori materials and certified Montessori guides.
KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
(AGES 5 TO 6 YEARS)
The final and most powerful year of the Montessori early childhood cycle. Our Kindergarten Program prepares children in Headingley for Grade 1 and beyond — developing leadership, mastery, and the confidence that comes from completing the full Montessori journey. Up to 24 children thrive in a vibrant, purposeful classroom alongside their preschool peers in our mixed-age Montessori environment.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE
(INFANTS THROUGH SCHOOL AGE)
For many Headingley families the school day starts earlier or ends later than classroom hours. Our Before and After School Care program offers a safe, supportive space where children can start their day calmly and end it among friends. Available for infants through school-age children, with transportation available for select local schools.
SUMMER CAMP
(8 weeks)
Summer should be full of adventure, creativity, and play. Our Headingley Summer Camp offers 8 weeks of outdoor fun, water play, crafts, special guests, and hands-on Montessori inspired projects that spark curiosity and keep children engaged all summer long. Current Guiding Minds families have priority registration, with limited spots open to the wider community for children aged 4 and up.

Preschool - Kindergarten
Preschool and Kindergarten Full Montessori curriculum, mixed-age community, leadership development, and preparation for Grade 1.

Music
Offered in: Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten
Available in Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten Programs. Music is woven into daily circles through singing, dancing, and games. Once a week a qualified music teacher leads age-appropriate programming covering rhythm, music theory, composition, and creative movement.
Cooking for Young Children
Offered in: Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten
Available in Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten Programs. From November to June, children participate in monthly cooking classes that spark creativity and problem-solving while reinforcing core Montessori curriculum skills including counting, measuring, sequencing, and following directions.
Yoga & Mindfulness
Offered in: Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten
Available in Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten Programs. From January to April, a qualified children's yoga instructor guides children in building strong, flexible bodies while developing self-calming strategies and awareness of thoughts, feelings, and sensations.
French & Ukrainian Beginner Classes
Offered in: Preschool, Kindergarten
Available in Preschool and Kindergarten Programs. Children are introduced to colors, numbers, months, animals, and foundational vocabulary, with older children progressing to more advanced language skills.
